What is a CL and who is the community leader of this board?
I’m Terre, otherwise known as cl-terreinarkansas. What is a CL? CL stands for Community Leader... a Community Leader's responsibility is to monitor the board, greet new members, keep conversations lively and interesting and help you enjoy your visit to the board.

I wanted to welcome you and give some tips and information about our board, and to make your experience with us as enjoyable as possible. If I can help in any way, you can click on my name in any message and you will find a link in my profile to send me an email message. Keep in mind though, that questions are better asked on the board... that way you will have a wide variety of responses to view.

Netiquette:
Netiquette is a term to describe the proper behavior for posting on the message boards. Here are a few tips:

  • Avoid writing e-mail messages or posting in newsgroups using all caps.
    IT LOOKS LIKE YOU'RE SHOUTING!

  • Remember that anything you post to our message board is public. You never know who's reading it, or who may copy it and spread it around. Don’t put your real name, address, phone number, etc. in your messages.

  • It is suggested that you not post your email address in your message. Use the Member-to-Member email feature to allow others to contact you if you wish. We recommend that you use this feature. Member-to-Member email may be turned on in your Board Settings. (You will find a link at the top of the board page for your board settings)

  • Try to break thoughts into separate paragraphs... it makes your message much easier to read.

  • Create a profile... that way members will know something about you. This helps when learning about other's interests and personality. (you will find a link at the top of the board page for your profile)

    Q: Can I just jump in and reply to a message?
    A: Sure!!! And if you run into any problems or have any questions, just let me know. You can ask them on the board, or e-mail me privately.

    Q: Why hasn't my message showed up?
    A: Depending on how many other people are posting on iVillage at the time, it may take a few seconds for it to appear. You may need to hit "refresh" on your browser to see it.

    Q: Why are the messages moving around?
    A: The messages with the newest replies are at the top of each folder. That way if someone replies to an old message, it doesn't get missed.

    Q: Is there any way to remove all those red dots without going through all the replies?
    A: The only way is to go in and view the very last reply of each message.

    Q: How do I create a profile?
    A: There is a link near the top of the page called "your profile". You must be signed in with your iVillage member name.
