About Me: I am a Latina, born and raised in Southern New Mexico. That makes me Mexican-American.

My Family: I live on five acres of land in rural Arkansas with my husband of almost 27 years.

My Work: I am a stay-at-home housewife and stay busy as far as my workouts, community and church work, and providing support and encouragement on iVillage.

My Interests: I have the luxury of devoting time to my church and leisure activities which include gardening, music, crafts and working out. During the summer months you can find me tending my garden. I grow Purple Coneflowers as well as other native plants.



I also enjoy talking with all my iVillage friends about friendship, beauty and fashion.

song: Anything by Carlos Santana. I also like the Buena Vista Social Club, Tito Puente, Cachao, Mariah Carey, Alica Keys and Luther Vandross!!

movie: Fargo, Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Cast Away and Chocolat!

book: "Gone But Not Forgotten" by Phillip Margolin, "The Second Suspect" by Heather Lewis and especially "Rain of Gold" by Victor Villesenor. This is my favorite book!!

tv show: "American Idol", "Project Runway", "America's Next Top Model", "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" and when in season you can find me watching the NBA Finals.

food: Mexican food, what else?? I love hot and spicy food..red enchildas, tacos, burritos.

Someday I would like to: travel to Argentina and any Latin American country. I'm a Latin so I'm drawn to those areas. I've already visited Italy...an awesome place to visit!!

Why I became an iVillage Community Leader: I think it's a wonderful thing to be afforded the opportunity to lead, motivate and encourage women of all ages to improve their lives...either through friendship or support. To help others, we help ourselves...so here I am! I always welcome new friendships..it's the bond that glues us together!
